Unlike in other poker tournaments and competitions, you really don’t have to qualify in World Series of Poker by winning qualifications, points or by ranking. You really don’t have to be a pro poker player or a good player to be able to join. You can just simply withdraw from your bank account ten thousand dollars and buy yourself a seat in WSOP. One example in buying a seat in WSOP is 2005 WSOP winner Joseph Hachem when he entered in the said event.
But if you don’t have that much money in your account and your family has a less interest in poker and how it can help you and your family, then you have to find another way to get a seat in WSOP. That is where online WSOP competitions and tournaments come in handy. WSOP satellites range in amounts of one hundred dollars to 1 thousand dollars, the one thousand dollars guarantees you a single table tournament seat. Depending on how many poker players join, a certain number of seats will be given off. These usually have a travel package including airfare, allowance, room, etc… Most of the time, sites offer free rolls for a seat in WSOP that you can qualify for by following and meeting the standards of the promotional criteria of that said room.
If one hundred dollars is a bit big for you, then you have the option of entering pre-WSOP satellites, which give you prizes for direct WSOP satellites. Its amount ranges from one to forty dollars. The higher you paid, the bigger the chance of winning a seat in WSOP. The cheap satellites are most of the time steps where the winners proceed to the next step with the direct WSOP satellite being the final tournament.
An advice would be to join the one hundred to one hundred fifty dollar tournaments. There was an instance where a player won a seat by winning a forty dollar pre satellite then winning the direct satellite, but it was a ling shot. Unless you have money to spend, you or nobody else should pay ten thousand dollars for a seat in WSOP. If you had bad luck and didn’t qualify for a seat in WSOP though a satellite with less than half of ten thousand dollars, then maybe really don’t belong there. Just play with what you have and stick with it, maybe it will get you a WSOP seat. |
